Whether it’s Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City, Winnie the Pooh and Snoopy or even Top Gear – many of our most popular TV programmes have one thing in common - ‘teams’ of four main characters each with a very distinct personality.
Whether in Business, Education, Community or Relationships the importance of teams affects every area of life. Yet, with millions of pounds rightly being put into training in the issues of age, gender, race and religion it seems that an important area is often overlooked, the differences in the personalities that make up our 'teams'.
During the next Entrepreneurs Ladder we'll take a look at a how important self understanding is to success and fulfillment and how to ensure our 'teams' whether at work or at home, can be more effective.
In Your Element is a Sheffield based training and coaching business, led by Ruth Adams, a qualified life coach and trainer. She was chief executive of a small national charity for 20 years during which time she developed and delivered presentations to audiences from small groups to several thousand. She has authored two books and is currently writing ‘Sugar on the Mattress' - a survival guide for adoptive and foster parents which will be published in 2009.
She is an associate of Family Futures (www.familyfutures.co.uk), a London-based specialist adoption agency and has worked extensively and successfully with parents who have extremely challenging children. Ruth has three adult birth children and two challenging teenage foster children herself, and has recently completed an MA course in Adoption and Attachment.
