Tina English Wins Community Achievement Award

Entrepreneur Ladder member Tina English is celebrating yet again winning this award in recognition of the contribution made over many years to local charities and community projects.

Previously won in 2006 she was again nominated and honoured by Barclays for her many hours voluntary work especially working helping young women at the Sheffield based "City Hearts" project. This amazing charity helps women with life controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, depression and drugs and alcohol related problems.  The charity relies on individual donations, volunteers and supported by a team of professionals.

Tina has worked for Barclays for over 34 years and is proud to be part of a Company who take their Corporate Social Responsibility so seriously and celebrate the achievements of employees who are determined to make a difference in their communities.

During her long career at Barclays Tina has faced many challenges herself, undertaking a variety of roles and taking on responsibilities in management, training and development, marketing and recruitment.

Additionally in the early 90's whilst bringing up three young children and working part-time at the bank, her husband Simon a civil engineer was made redundant, so they decided to start their own construction business.  Over the years with a lot of hard work, many sleepless nights but loads of drive and determination the business flourished and Tina was able to combine running the business and continue her career in the bank.

Throughout the years Tina has gained vast experience in the Banking Industry, plus has many years experience of running her own business. She fully understands he pressures and demands women face today to juggle business, career and family responsibilities.

Tina is now determined to pass her expertise onto the next generation. Now working as Business Development Manager for Barclays, Tina is passionate about helping women in South Yorkshire make the most of all the opportunities available to them. Whatever age, experience, background Tina wants to ensure that women are in the right place to find support, encouragement and inspiration to realise their full potential, whether it be starting a business, developing and growing an existing business or climbing the corporate ladder in their chosen career.

To give women this opportunity Tina is working in partnership and association with local businesswoman and entrepreneur Christina Lima Trindade founder of http://www.workingwoman.org.uk/  to bring to women the Entrepreneurs Ladder  http://www.entrepreneursladder.co.uk/
