Social Entrepreneur Farah Naz Khan Scoops Award
Yoga4 UK Ltd, run by Social Entrepreneur Farah-Naz Khan won Start Up of the Year for South Yorkshire at the prestigious Social Enterprise Awards Yorkshire and Humber 2008, in York last night.

As well as delivering traditional classes the business, which began last year, provides unique accredited self-help training courses to nurseries and pre-schools, schools, businesses, care homes and hospitals. The courses give employees the skills to deliver specially geared yoga sessions to people in their care.
Programmes vary according to the groups they're aimed at, says Farah-Naz Social Entrepreneur.
Those developed for children are different than those for adults and seniors, but the emphasis is the same, with our courses offering we're simply trying to build on existing relationships and provide a basic introduction to yoga and the benefits it can offer.
The majority of our programmes are focused on improving the health and well being of children and their families. And all programmes have the end user at heart. They're a good, safe, starting point."
Once trained, workers are equipped to deliver short, simple yoga techniques that relax body and mind.
Not surprisingly the novel approach is proving particularly popular with nursery staff as yoga has become an accepted method of daily exercise for toddlers.
Already Yoga4 has trained 112 workers from over 60 nurseries across the UK.
