To celebrate international women’s day, Entrepreneurs Ladder.co.uk and Barclays Bank PLC are pleased to invite entries for our writing and illustration competition. This is open to all female students currently studying in Sheffield schools and colleges

Writing and illustration competition 2010

 

Competition Brief
Young female entrepreneurs writing competition, five categories, maximum of 400 words for written entries:

Category 1 - photography and illustration

Judge photographer Jaq Bellamy of Pixelwitch Pictures

Category 2 - book review

Judge writer and presenter Kate Hull Rogers of Humourus

Category 3 - lifestyle, fashion or beauty article

Judge designer Elizabeth Edwards of Hope & Glory

Category 4 - short story on: “a women who has influenced me”

Judge Tina English, women’s business development manager of sponsor Barclays

Category 5 - interview of a female entrepreneur

Judge business editor of Sheffield Star, Fiona Firth

Prizes

Prize for overall winner and winner of each individual category.

 

·         overall winner £100 and engraved trophy.

·         1st prize for best entry in each category £40 Meadowhall voucher

·         £10 for nominated highly commended entries 5/10 per category

·         Winning and 10 best stories published on the Working Woman website.

 

Awards Ceremony

Winners and their school representatives will be invited to an awards ceremony and presentation with inspiring guest speakers and prestigious judges at Barclays Bank, Fargate - 3.30 for 4.00pm Monday 8 March

To register your interest in the competition, please email enterprise@sheffcol.ac.uk

 

Entries should be submitted to the same address no later than Friday 26 February by 3pm, quoting “International Women’s Day writing and illustration competition” and clearly indicating which category the entry is for.
